The Family Of God

Joseph was the silent and obedient man of God who protected his family as best he could. Twice we get the same pattern. An angel tells Joseph what to do, and Joseph does it exactly as he is told. (v13-14 and v20-21). These are actually the 2nd and 3rd acts of obedience Joseph demonstrates. The first was the dream in Matthew 1 that kept the marriage together and the family Jesus would enter into. We might think that Joseph adopted Jesus as son, but truthfully Jesus adopted Joseph to be His father (and also His son). Maybe you relate to Joseph. Quiet, faithful, hoping in the Lord. Be obedient to His Word. You have a place in the family of Jesus.
