Welcome to Community at First Pres

We were never meant to follow Jesus alone. Faith isn’t something we keep to ourselves, it grows in shared experiences, over coffee, in classroom chairs, and living room couches. At First Pres, we believe belonging starts not with a program but with people - who know your name and choose to walk with you.

Whether you’ve just arrived in Colorado Springs or have called this city home for decades, there’s a place for you in our community. Because real friendship takes root when we show up for each other—when we pray, listen, laugh, and shoulder one another’s burdens. That’s how we live like Jesus: together, even when it takes sacrifice.

Psalm 133 says, “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity.” And Acts 2:42 shows us the pattern: believers gathering for teaching, fellowship, breaking bread, and prayer. That’s the heartbeat of our groups at First Pres.

What to Expect

It’s okay to be new. You don’t need to know anyone to start. You’ll be welcomed in. You won’t be put on the spot. Groups are spaces of trust, not performance. No perfect answers required. You’ll grow at your own pace. Some people jump in fast; others take time. We make room for both. It’s worth it. The connection you build in Christian community changes how you weather storms, celebrate wins, and follow Jesus.
