Like Him We Rise

2/19/2026 -

In this section of Romans, we get the primary argument for how Jesus pays the penalty for our sins and makes us right with God the Father. This is the doctrine of justification. We are, though sinners, regarded as righteous as we are hidden in Christ and His righteousness covers over our sinfulness. No one is free from sin. Sin leads to death. Christ went to death to pay for our sins. Now, in Christ, we are forgiven and free. We are made righteous by the blood of Christ. Baptized into Christ, we die—give our lives over—and we rise again to new life in Jesus. Made like Him, like Him we rise.
