Connect. Grow. Flourish.
In Women’s Life at First Pres, we desire to be part of a movement of the Holy Spirit in bringing the light and life of Christ to the women of our church, our city and our world. All are invited to authentically connect with Christ and with one another in community, grow deeper in fellowship with Jesus through God’s Word, and flourish in life, unleashing your giftings as you are formed by the Holy Spirit and being sent out in your unique and various callings in each and every stage of life. We hope each of you finds your place to connect, grow and flourish, taking one step closer to Jesus and the Kingdom of God!
This year's Women's Christmas Celebration, "Waiting for Christmas" will be held on December 6 and 7 and will have two seatings: Friday evening at 6 p.m. and Saturday morning at 9 a.m. Tickets are available in the plaza this week and you can also purchase tickets online for Friday seating and Saturday seating. Women's Life: Learn Over Lunch
Fill your cup with a compact, community-oriented lunch hour for busy women. We'll study An Unexplainable Life (by Erica Wiggenhorn) which focuses on Acts 1-12. Most of us live a shadow of the life we're called to live. More than any other book in the Bible, Acts shows us what life can be when lived in the power of God. This is an in-depth study meant to reignite a movement of the Holy Spirit in us individually and collectively.
Life is busy. Bible Study doesn't have to feel the same way.
Thursdays, 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m., Sept. 12–Nov. 21. Bring lunch.
Women's Life WOW! Study
Sept. 10 to Nov. 19, 2019
Tuesday mornings, 9:30-11:30 a.m.
An Unexplainable Life by Erica Wiggenhorn is an in-depth, life-changing study based on Acts 1-12. The reality of Jesus’ mission in His Church and in the world became apparent as Peter was radically transformed from a timid, fearful man to a courageous follower of Jesus. The change was unexplainable; a work of God in Peter so apparent that those around him knew that he had been with Jesus!
How might our worry, anxiety, unrest and discontent be replaced by the reality of the Prince of Peace ruling in our hearts and minds? What might God do in and through us in this study of Acts? Uncover the power and presence the early disciples experienced as they followed Christ.
Jan. 14 to May 5, 2020
Tuesday mornings, 9:30-11:30 a.m.
The Unexplainable Church by Erica Wiggenhorn, the in-depth study based on Acts 13-28, is the story of ordinary believers transformed by God. Paul and Barnabas accepted the divine invitation to the grand adventure that resulted in the fellowship of believers called The Church. God’s plan is to use The Church to astonish the world with His love and grace!
The power of the Gospel cannot be stopped, diluted, or quieted by any attack, scheme or deception of the enemy. The power of the Gospel changed the known world through the early church. God is still using His people to take that Gospel to our family, friends, and communities. The truths and challenges in Acts can charge our lives and the Church with fresh vitality today!
The Unexplainable Church follows An Unexplainable Life. However, each semester stands as a separate study. If you must miss one of the semesters, do come to be encouraged with either study. You will be blessed!
