El Salvador 2018 - Forming a Team

Posted by Laura Mueller on

According to Living Water International, at least 663 million people across the globe lack access to safe drinking water. This huge need and the thirsty people affected by it make it a great place for the people of God to step in!

In 2013, a group of MOPS moms decided to give up coffee, take the money they saved, and drill a well for a community without clean water in El Salvador through Living Water. Every year since then, the First Pres family has both provided the funds and sent a team to help with the well drilling. The project has even become a part of Something Significant for Christmas, so anyone in the congregation can participate.

Team Forming

We are forming a team of twelve to head to El Salvador from June 10 to 16. Anyone fourteen and older can participate in either the drilling and building of the well, or by helping teach about hygiene and preparing hygiene kits. All twelve team members will be able to interact with the local team and community and build relationships.

Living Water works alongside local ministries and churches to identify communities in need of clean, safe water, and then provides the technology to make it happen. Our team is fortunate to join God’s people already embedded in this local community to bring hope, health, improved lives and encouragement in Jesus' name.

Interested? There will be three informational meetings:
  • Sunday, February 4th, 9:30-9:50 in room 205
  • Sunday, February 4th, 10:15-10:45 in room 205
