Christmas at First Pres 2019

Come experience one of our eight Christmas Services as we celebrate the birth of Jesus with beautiful music, a Christmas message and fun. Join us for Christmas at First Pres as we remember the good news of Jesus’ birth for all people that brings us a solid foundation for hope.

Dates & Times 

The 23rd at First Pres

6:30 p.m. in the Worship Center
Start a new family tradition and join us for The 23rd at First Pres! You will hear beautiful music from our worship band and Pastor Tim McConnell will preach his Christmas message. Stay after with friends for appetizers and warm drinks. Childcare provided for infants through kindergarten.

Family Service

Christmas Eve at 10 a.m. in the Sanctuary
This year, we invite you and your family to join us for a fun-filled Family Service. You will experience a morning of singing carols together, an interactive children’s nativity story, and hear a Christmas message from Pastor Tim McConnell.

Candlelight Services

Christmas Eve at 12, 2, 4, 5:30 and 7 p.m. in the Sanctuary
Fill Christmas Eve with light and worship and join us for one of the five Candlelight Services. You will hear beautiful music of the season, a Christmas message from Pastor Tim McConnell and experience a special candlelight moment. Childcare provided for infants through kindergarten.

Midnight at First Pres

Christmas Eve at 10:45 p.m. in the Sanctuary
Experience a celebration like never before and join us for Midnight at First Pres. You will hear beautiful acoustic music and a Christmas message from Pastor Tim McConnell. Receive communion and experience a candlelight moment that will take us into Christmas morning.

 

New Year's Service

6:30 p.m. in the Worship Center
This year, we invite you and your whole family to join us for our reflective New Year’s Eve in the Worship Center. You will hear an inspiring message from Linda Boyles, hear beautiful music and experience communion together.

What should I wear?

You won't feel out of place if you're wearing jeans or a jacket and tie. Wear what makes you feel comfortable.

Is there a cost?

No, there is no cost. Our Christmas services are free for the whole family. We're so glad to welcome more than 6,000 people—so come early and find your seat!

How early should I arrive?

To make it easy to be seated, please arrive at least 30 minutes early for the service you plan to attend. You can even snag a cookie while you wait!

Can my kids come?

Yes! If you're looking for an interactive service, we recommend attending the Family Service on Christmas Even at 10 a.m. in the Sanctuary. Childcare provided for infants through kindergarten.

How long will the services last?

The service on the 23rd will last approximately 75 minutes.
The Family Service will last approximately 45 minutes.
The Candlelight services will last 60 minutes.
The Midnight service will last 60 minutes.

Where should I park?

We have many parking options around downtown:

  • Weber St. Center lot (across from the Main Entrance)
  • South Lot adjacent to the Worship Center (Handicapped only)
  • First Pres/YMCA garage (North side of Bijou)
  • Cafe 225 Back Lot (225 N. Weber)
  • Borriello Brothers Lot (Weber & Platt)
  • Landis Lot (off alley east of Weber St.)
  • City Garage (Nevada and Kiowa) $1
  • Downtown street parking

What if I need assistance?

Our handicapped friends and those needing assistance should enter at the drop-off and ramp on Bijou Street.

What happens if I'm late?

We still have space for you! One of our hosts will help you find a seat, or guide you to our prepared video venue.
