Artists, musicians, dancers, singers and more are invited to Make Beauty Week at First Pres. Each morning, all campers from the Fine Arts Workshop, Upbeat Music and Drama Camp, and String Camp will gather for an opening rally for inspiration and stories from real artists, then disperse to their different focus areas.
Fine Arts Workshop gives middle and high school students the opportunity to express themselves in a variety of media. From drawing to painting, 2-D to 3-D, artists will explore the partnership between art and faith. It's in our DNA to be creative, and our experienced camp staff will help campers tap into that desire. Students will have a chance to display what they’ve learned in an Art Exhibition on Friday, June 25 at 11 a.m. $85 cost includes art supplies and snacks. Questions? Contact Marty Kelley.
Upbeat Music and Drama camp is a day camp that is perfect for all kids who love to sing, dance or act. Campers will learn and perform an entire musical in a week that’s also jam-packed with fun, friends, exciting games and growth in the Christian faith. Scholarships are available. Performance of the musical will be Friday, June 25 at 7 p.m. in the Aspen Room of the Weber Street Center. Questions? Contact Tim Wazny.
Group and individual instruction and coaching, with group performances led by the finest local musicians. String Camp is all about sacred and classical musical performance to the glory of God. It’s an opportunity to grow as a musician and learn to play as part of an orchestra or ensemble. Two groups of different skill levels rehearse in small groups, in a large group, and as individuals. Camp ends with a concert Friday, June 25 at 6 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Questions? Contact Marty Kelley.
